2015: BOOP’S YEAR IN FASHION

When I first started Bec Boop almost three years ago it was initially envisioned as a fashion and beauty blog. This year I incorporated more lifestyle and travel blog posts with the fashion side of the blog taking a new direction. While personal outfit posts took a bit of a back seat towards the latter half of the year I explored fashion on the blog in a new way. Moving to London is the prime reason for this. For the first time I was invited to London Fashion Week for the SS16 collections and I loved covering the shows for my blog. However being in a new city alone meant I struggled to take outfit photos. Back home in Ireland my family and friends always helped out in taking photos for my blog and I had a great network of local photographers whom I worked with regularly on fashion shoots for outfit posts and also as a stylist.
I don’t see this as a limitation however, moreso a new direction. Now I usually show my outfit-of-the-day over on Instagram (@Bec_Boop) as it’s so much more practical for me to take an outfit selfie, so make sure you are following me there to keep up to date with my daily looks. Surprsingly my outfit pics were amongst my most popular this year on Insta. I am also sharing my outfits over on Periscope where I live-stream on a daily basis. I do love fashion however, having studied fashion design briefly before moving to London I hope I will find a way to embrace this more in 2016 while continuing with the other categories I now also cover on the blog. I hope to return to London Fashion Week in February to cover the AW16 shows here and also on my Periscope channel (@BoopFashionista).

As always, I featured some racing fashion on the blog this year teaming up once again with Mark Garvie Millinery for the Galway Races 2015 festival. I also attended the Newbury Races just outside London towards the end of the year wearing a hat by Galway milliner Suzie Mahoney. The races are my favorite time of the year and this year my sister Stephanie and I were thrilled to make in into numerous national and local newspapers for our style at the races. *yay*

This year I really enjoyed sharing my fashion tips including how to create a capsule wardrobe and finding the perfect festival fashion pieces. I worked with many of my favourite fashion brands in bringing you my personal style posts including American Eagle Outfitters, George at Asda, Lipsy London and more.

I would love to know what you guys would love to see more of here on Bec Boop in relation to fashion – more personal style, trend reviews, fashion shows, wishlists… or whatever else takes your fancy. Let me know in the comments down below and I’ll do my best to fit them into 2016 on Bec Boop!
