Spring makeup for me is all about adding pastels and brighter shades to your everyday look. It’s all about that floral, girly ambience and I picked up these first two products from Revlon for this exact reason. I’ll start this haul by saying Revlon isn’t one of my go-to makeup brands like Urban Decay or Benefit which I’m always raving on about but when I popped into Boots back in January there was a tempting little 3-for-2 offer on the Revlon cosmetics stand which I simply couldn’t resist. I’d also heard lots of positive things about the Revlon Lip Butters so it was about time I had a little try.
I went for a pastel pink shade from the ColorBurst Lip Butters range – 090 Sweet Tart. I’ve worn this quite a bit and although I’m usually not a fan of creamy lipstick textures I rather liked this one. You can see how it looked in this Instagram photo. I think the packaging is quite cute too. Back when I was shopping for these products I was really lusting after the Bobbi Brown Pink Quartz Shimmer Brick and this Revlon offering looked like a great dupe. At a fraction of the price (especially when the Boots 3-for-2 is involved). After using the Revlon highlighter in shade – 020 Rose Glow – over the past few weeks I can safely say I love it. I’ve found that it doubles as a bronzer/blush product which is great for packing light and travelling. If you use your blusher brush on the lower section of the powders there is more of a bronze effect and I’ve found this great for contouring. I then use the upper section of the powder to add some rosy shimmer to my cheeks. Be warned though, it is super shimmery 🙂 but I do love a bit of shimmer! You can build it up depending on whether it’s a day or evening makeup look you’re going for. The final Revlon product I picked up was the Revlon Colorstay Moisture Stain in shade – 005 Parisian Passion. Now this is a little dark for Spring but as it’s quite mositurising and has a glistening shine to it I think this is the perfect ‘darker Spring shade‘. You might have seen when I wore this shade to the office recently in this Instagram photo. I usually wouldn’t wear such a dark shade to the office but this moisture-stain is so long-wearing it really lasted up until lunchtime which was great! It’s also really good for the indoor A/C office environment as it keeps your lips moisturised. I can definitely visualise myself adding some more shades from the Colorstay Moisture Stain collection.
