Beauty | Benefit Roller Lash Review

If you’ve been watching my YouTube beauty videos you’ll know how obsessed I am with one particula mascara product and it happens to hail from Benefit Cosmetics. So it’s safe to say I was pretty excited when I heard  about Roller Lash (Benefit’s newest mascara product) last month. I picked up the free sample with Elle UK March edition and if you “Click to View Post” under the image you can find out if I thought it was worth the hype!

Now I know that this is the sample-size mascara and so the full-size product is actually a lot bigger but in my opinion it’s beneficial to try out a sample first when it comes to high-end beauty products so what the hell! 🙂 Benefit mascara can be hit and miss for me. Bad Gal is soooooo ‘Hit’ but They’re Real was a big miss for me. It really is down to personal preference when it comes to mascara wand type and I’m just not a fan of plastic wands. I did keep an open mind when trying Roller Lash in any case; as I was super excited to try the new hook-and-roll brush.
The packaging is cute, as is usually a given when it comes to Benefit products really. The full-size product is even cuter as it’s designed based on hair curlers. The mascara is supposed to follow the idea of a roller for lashes and promises to hold your lashes super curled for up to 12 hours. There is a specific technique when it comes to applying it however and you should wiggle the curved brush from the base to the tip of your lashes ensuring to hook every lash. This ensures the little hooks at the bottom of the bristles catch and lift your eyelashes individually. I tried the mascara recently and found it was quite easy to apply and definitely did add some curl to my lashes. It was quite long-lasting too which is great for a weekend day buzzing around London. I found the formula was a little thin on the first application so I did add a couple of additional coats to my lashes. I posted a selfie on Instagram yesterday where you can see how my lashes looked with Roller Lash mascara. To sum it up I’ll be sticking with Bad Gal but that’s not to say I didn’t like Roller Lash, I’m just not a fan of plastic wands. I think it’s super innovative and the mascara actually does what it promises. It’s worth trying out and the sample size mascara is the perfect fit for your evening handbag!
