Red lips are a timeless beauty look especially for a night out and I have been obsessing over this trend lately. I picked up two cute lippies from Maybelline in Boots to create this look for a party last Saturday night. This is my first blog post with my new Canon camera which I am so excited about! I hope the photo quality on Bec Boop Fashionista World improves as I learn how to use it.

I always tend to use lipstick and then a slick of gloss on top so for this post I wanted to show you what the gloss and lipstick looked like individually also. The lip gloss is Colorsensational Shine Gloss from Maybelline in shade 550 Gleaming Grenadine. I really like that this lip gloss is not sticky and the shine on it looks really cute and girly. The colour is a tiny bit on the lighter side so I did use a couple of coats on my lips but I like how it looks overall. Red lips are all about making a statement so if this is the look you are going for I do not necessarily think that the shine gloss works on its own.The lipstick is also Maybelline Colorsensational in shade 530 Fatal Red. I have this lipstick in a dark purple shade already and I love how the formula does not dry your lips out and instead leaves them looking and feeling moisturized. From reading up on the lipstick I found out that this is because there is nourishing honey nectar extracts in it. The color looks really sharp and goes on pretty easily. It really works for the statement red lips look as the red is very pure and rich with a shiny finish. In the end I still prefer the lipstick with a flash of gloss – best of both worlds really!
